I've been fortunate enough to visit British Columbia three times now, and each time it just blows me away. As a nature freak, I usually leave the city as soon as possible in order to dive into the surrounding nature wonderlands. Vancouver, however, is a whole different beast. The marriage between nature and the energetic city is incredibly powerful and balanced. Vancouver has an international personality with as many food options as you can imagine. One sector in Vancouver has more cuisine options than any other region of the world! There is something magical about seeing all types of people living happily together.
Granville Island (which sits below the bridge from Vancouver to North Vancouver)
feels like a utopia that you discovered for the first time. It's feels like walking into a different time and a different world.
My favorite nature areas I had the pleasure of experiencing was Lynn Canyon Park, Lions Bay, Porteau, Shannon Provincial Park, and the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish. The vibrance of the life in every direction coupled with the emerald water caused immediate sensory overload. The purple sunset over Porteau will forever be painted in my mind.
